International Relations

Talk about good neighbors. Hot on the heels of our January scoop that superstar Allan Knight is moving his design kingdom to the oh-so-cool International Harvester Building in the design district (Good Fulton & Farrell is sleeking out the early-'40s structure, even dividing it in half so we can pull our S-Classes right through the middle), here comes Ellouise Abbott, one of Houston's toniest showrooms, owned by Betsie Weatherford. Just think: Five thousand square feet of Fortuny (Ellouise Abbott has offered Fortuny since the '50s), hand-painted wallcoverings by Arena Design Painted Papers, among other lines. A café (hush-hush on which one for now) will cozy in to "the International," too, which could just become the new place to break bread with Dallas design cognoscenti. Ribbons start snipping this summer.
